Hey Friends! I’ve been so excited to start creating Autumn scrapbook layouts. They are one of my favorites to create along with Halloween journal spreads. I’ve included below my thought process and links to the stationery supplies used in this cozy Autumn scrapbook layout.

When Fall season was approaching, I searched Amazon for some Ephemera books. I love creating with those types of books, especially around the holidays. They are the cut-and-create style with many options on each page. The possibilities are truly endless with these Ephemera books. They’re great for making junk journals and cute birthday or holiday cards to give to family and friends.

I came across the Autumn Ephemera Book by Kate Curry. The illustrations are what caught my eye. There’s everything ranging from Fall colored trees to cute little furry animals that I created with today.

Watch My Video

I post videos on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Amazon. The full furry friends Autumn scrapbook layout video is on TikTok, and shorter versions are posted to Instagram and YouTube. Watch my process video below if you like ASMR. All the sounds of crinkles and sticker peeling can be satisfying!

My Process

To begin, I usually pick one stationery item to start with. I then choose other stickers and paper to go with that single item. In this instance, I wanted to create with the squirrel and hedgehog in the above picture. I look for background papers that I believe would complement my main images.

After I have some papers picked out, I go through my stickers. I enjoyed searching through all my Autumn colored stickers such as leaves and orange flowers. The picture below is everything I pulled out from my stationery to begin creating this cute Autumn scrapbook layout.

I receive many questions about whether or not I plan out my pages ahead of time. Very rarely will I plan the whole spread before filming. I usually go with the flow while creating my scrapbook layouts. I set out stickers and paper that I think go well together and I get to taping. I never end up using everything that I had originally pulled out. I’d say I use about forty percent of the stationery that I started with.

Background Layout

After I have everything set out in front of me, I start with the background. I used a Fall Paper Set from Recollections that I got at the craft store Michaels. With my Spellbinder’s Platinum Die Cutting Machine I cut squares with rounded corners into the paper.

I love this machine for creating my scrapbook layouts. It’s so much easier to use than trying to cut shapes out with scissors yourself. Die-cutting machines are also popular among the card-making community. They make so many shapes and images for die-cut stencils. A quick search on Amazon will show all the different die-cut possibilities.

If I have extra time, I like to go through my scrap paper and make die cuts with them. It’s a great way to use scrap paper that’s been cut or ripped from other pages.

This Die Cut Storage Holder has been really helpful in organizing and storing all my die cuts. It’s magnetic and comes with plastic folders for easy storage!

Along with the die cuts I made, I wanted to also add some accent paper. I used these accent papers to fill in the background.

Stickers

It’s sticker time! I recently got these gorgeous Fall colored flower stickers (use code: BLACKJOURNAL for 8%off) and knew I had to include them in this Autumn scrapbook layout. The yellows, oranges, and reds are vibrant and add the perfect Fall touch.

I then added pinecone stickers and I just love them! Along with yellow and red leaf stickers, they really made the page come together.

I had found a scrap sticker that I cut from a previous page and it became the perfect background to fill in the empty spot to the left of the hedgehog. I always keep the paper and stickers I cut off from other spreads and save them to use on new ones. You never know when they can come into use!

Scrap-only pages are also one of my favorites to create. They can be challenging but so much fun to work with.

Layout Options

I often receive comments from followers who like to guess where I’m going to place a certain sticker or paper. I thought it would be fun to show you two options that had me going back and forth on which placement I wanted to go with.

For the first picture, I liked how the gold leaf looked behind the hedgehog but then I found that scrap floral sticker, so I ultimately went with the second option. So many possibilities!

I then was deciding on whether or not to place a sticker in the upper right corner where the brown heart accent paper is located. I didn’t want the page to be overcrowded, but thought it was missing something. I decided on a yellow Autumn leaf sticker, which I’m glad I did.

Stationery I Used

All in all, I’m happy with the outcome of this cute Autumn scrapbook layout. The placement of everything is visually appealing and I love the vibrant colors. Can’t forget about the furry friends too.

I’ve tried to link everything I used below. Some items are either out of stock or I couldn’t find them. I hope you enjoyed reading through my thought process. I can’t wait to create more Fall pages!
